This website is basically a record of all the work and resources that will go into the rebuilding of a 1972 Chevy short box stepside K20. This is not your typical restoration story. There are better rigs out there to start with for doing a restoration, but there is a method to my madness. My son needs a vehicle, a senior project for school, and to learn something along the way. With this truck as a starting point I figure I can give him a good solid understanding of vehicles (minus all the computer electronics crap) and accomplish all three.

As I stated before this is not a restore to original kind of job, but the plan is that there will not be a single nut, bolt, screw, or grommet that wont be removed, cleaned, prepped, painted, powder coated, or otherwise refinished or replaced before it is done. The idea is to teach my son a bit about how each piece works individually, and how each piece fits together in the big picture to make the truck work when we are done.
DISCLAIMER: I am not saying that the way we have done things is exactly the right way to do it, I’m sure that there is always someone out there with a better idea or way of doing things, but its the way we did it. We are not an expert mechanics so use any information you find on this site at your own risk. With that said, we are always open to feedback. I have several more projects after this one time and money permitting.

Anyways if ya happen to stumble upon this page I hope you find something useful, or at least entertaining.
